What’s in My Everyday Bag: The Expandable Edition

I don’t have a fixed desk. Some days I work from a café, some days a friend’s apartment, and others—like today—from a sunny library corner with decent Wi-Fi, move through a few hours of laptop work, and end with a cycle across the park and then visit to a friend’s flat.
On those ride days, I usually tuck my helmet into the expandable front pocket of my backpack—it fits snugly and stays out of the way until I need it again.

This photo pretty much sums it up. Urban errands, café stops, library corners. I don’t have to think twice about what fits. This one just adapts.

  • Power bank with wireless + dual-port cable charging
  • A cereal bar or flapjack—just enough fuel between café hopping
Some days I’ll carry a hoodie. Others, I’ll slide a small pouch of pens and cords into a side pocket. But I never feel like I’m cramming.

Why I haven’t changed bags in months

I used to swap bags based on the day’s plans. Now I don’t bother. The expandable design means I don’t need to guess how much space I’ll want. It’s just there when I need it.
