The Most Unexpected Forest Tower Hike Near Copenhagen

It’s not every day you get to walk a 900-meter spiral path made of timber that rises gently through the canopy of a Danish forest. Just an hour south of Copenhagen, Camp Adventure Park is a quietly magical place—a blend of architecture, wilderness, and stillness you wouldn’t expect so close to the capital.

The observation tower itself is a piece of art. Designed by EFFEKT Architects, it blends seamlessly into the forest but stands bold against the skyline. Every few steps up the spiral offer new angles, shifting light, and views that justify the slow ascent.

I packed light, carrying only my lightweight expandable backpack—perfect for short day hikes like this one, especially with a 20L capacity. The trail was smooth and well-maintained, easy enough to enjoy slowly while soaking in the sounds of the forest.
Not far from the tower, I stumbled upon a flower field open for self-picking. For 50 DKK, you can cut as many as you want, and honestly, I ended up spending 40 minutes among the rows of seasonal blooms. This time, I chose mostly wildflowers. Maybe next time, I’ll explore their range of perennials.

If you’re into forest sports, the park also offers climbing circuits and zip lines among the trees. But even if you skip the activities, just walking through the park and climbing the tower feels like enough. Quiet, scenic, and oddly recharging.
