A Quiet Solo Morning at Copenhagen’s Most Minimalist Bakery

On solo trips, I like to start my mornings slow. No rush, no schedule—just good bread and soft sunlight. That’s exactly what I found at Lille Bakery, a quiet spot tucked into the old industrial corners of Refshaleøen.

It’s not flashy. No big signage, no crowding. Just clean lines, natural textures, and the kind of honest food that reminds you less is more.
I arrived just after opening, carrying my extend backpack—a 20L minimalist pack that fits my camera, a book, and a backup layer in case the wind picks up. I grabbed a table near the window, ordered the sourdough with butter, cheese, and jam, and just… sat. For a long while.

The bread here is different—less about indulgence, more about intention. It’s the kind of place where you feel like the staff actually care about what goes into the flour, and the way the light hits the table.

The bakery shares a corner of Reffen, a lively area filled with art spaces and food trucks. After my late breakfast, I wandered around with my outdoor daypack, just following the path of light. No fixed route, no pressure.
